I bought this because I had an old one and it didn't fit well in the air vent on my Subaru BRZ. This one is deep enough to grab an air vent, and I love that it now rotates to place the phone exactly where you want it. I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max with an Otterbox case and the thing still holds all the weight with no issues. Excellent purchase!

I don't use mine in the car so the adhesive works for me and I haven't seen the problems others have mentioned. I use it with Function 101 cable blocks, otherwise nothing works. The magnets are strong and hold almost all metal objects well to the edge of my desk. I like them better than Wizgear, which I also use. Wizgear is suitable for smaller places with weaker magnets. This is one of the many Scosche magnetic mounts I've bought for various vehicles and it was the first to break! I've read other reviews on this and other Schosche mounts saying the adhesive is too weak and so far I've assumed the owner messed up the rig. I bought it thinking there were magnets on both sides so I just had to throw one of those fancy metal plates on the dash but unfortunately it's wrong (but it didn't help) . worries me too much).
