I needed a pump to pump out my inground pool. I also purchased a WAYNE 66000-WYN1 24' 1-1/2" Drain Hose Kit and a Superior Pump 99555 Universal Check Valve to prevent the hose from running back into the pool when the pump stops. Received this pump today. Its main purpose is to drain water from my large hot tub. I live in a cold climate so draining my hot tub can be quite a hassle. It worked great! I reached a few inches of water in the hot tub and passed out on my own. My recommendation is to order a drain pump hose that will work with this pump. Luckily I had parts from the old pump that I replaced. That's good enough for my purposes, but the best I can say is - I dump wash water in the garden by pumping it out of the sink in the laundry room where the washing machine drains. But I have to manually turn the power on and off and shake/push the pump pretty hard to make it "click" and start pumping water, otherwise it just sits and makes try and fail noises.
