Melitta Espresso Cappuccino Machine MEX 1B Review

We bought one of these many years ago and replaced it when it was graduated. We gave them away to those who enjoy the morning latte we serve to our overnight guests in the morning. Unfortunately they are no longer manufactured so we will take every opportunity to collect them whenever we can. Now I have 4 and we "store" them with the family we visit so we can make our favorite drink with our favorite espresso machine when we visit our favorite homes.

"Duilawyer" reviewer was right. This machine makes great foam although it doesn't make an espresso. Probably this type of machine cannot make a great espresso. You need the power of a pump machine to extract all of the flavor and "cream" from French or Italian roasted espresso beans. The fact that the instructions say not to force the coffee into the strainer should make it clear that the machine is incapable of making espresso. Great car but I was surprised to find out I was buying a 'new' car that had obviously been on the shelf for over 15 years. The accompanying documentation states copyright 2000.
