The knives themselves are very nice. This is my second set of Mercer knives. They are very sharp and of good quality. But the booth is another story. While it looks nice, it wasn't put together very well. The two glass surfaces on the sides are uneven. Force the entire stand to lean sideways and sway. If I had known this stand was that bad I would have ordered another set with a different stand. Very frustrating.

This set of knives was a gift for our son along with a 7 inch forged knife. After reading the reviews and researching, I decided on this set. I love the new look of the coaster compared to the old block of wood which is still great. I was just looking for something more modern, that's all. We've only heard good things about these knives from our son. He really loves to cook and this set has really made his preparation that much more enjoyable.

Can't give this product enough stars! They are arranged on the board in such a way that they are clearly visible and easily accessible. And no need to stick knives in a block of wood with holes catching god knows what! The knives are very sharp and hold their edge well. I would recommend these knives and this holder to EVERYONE! We've had so many sets over the years and they all pale in comparison to this set. Can't say enough!

A small note for those complaining about rust on these knives: it's actually a sign of a good steel knife. If you don't treat them like the $5 stainless steel junk you bought at Walmart, they will last you for years.
