The best toddler shoe on the market

I was very surprised that toddler shoes are quite slim fitting for fashion reasons. This is terrible for the development of their feet and fingers. (I've worn tight shoes my whole life and have been dealing with ingrown toes for years now.) So I wanted to make sure my kid's shoes were comfortable, breathable, and wide enough to accommodate their fat little toes. That's it! I finally found the perfect shoes! They are so strong, light and wide! A few dollars more makes a big difference. I love…

Pros
  • Rounded outsole conforms to the natural shape of a child's foot
Cons
  • Available in black only

Pleasantly surprised

We're the kind of people who buy 100 pairs of shoes and return 99 of them until we get the 1 pair that actually fits my baby's XW foot size. He has a rivalry with Fred Flintstone and it's a pain to put on any shoe for him (except New Balance, which sure fits in the XW). While not perfect, they're so close to what we get for a water/beach shoe he might wear in the fall. The combination of wide size (although XW would be better!), flexible material and easy/wide opening makes it a winning…

Pros
  • Shaft size just below the arch of foot
Cons
  • Expensive

Perfect shoes for toddlers with a big, thick pad on the foot

These shoes are fantastic. We've tried every brand of booty, every size and width available and nothing has worked. Our son doesn't have very wide feet, but at 16 months he still has a lot of love handles on the back of his foot, so it felt like we had to put on every shoe. Shoes would be too long but very tight and would leave marks on the feet. I was hesitant to try these because they're supposed to be water shoes, but I was desperate for something that would work and be comfortable for him…

Pros
  • 100% leather and textile
Cons
  • Some bugs
