Fell apart quickly in my review best

I love Merrell in general - I've worn Moab boots and steel toe work boots for many years. But this is a very poor quality shoe. After about 45 days, the fabric strap holding the ring simply ripped. Shortly thereafter, my son showed me the worn insoles and explained that he could feel the abrasion through his toe and that it was becoming uncomfortable to wear. Pretty disappointing. Won't be buying Merrells for my kids again.

Pros
  • I am never disappointed when I buy Merrill shoes. The quality is excellent.
Cons
  • Narrow design may not fit wider feet.

Comfortable, shockproof, had to be sprayed for waterproofing

We've had them for almost 2 months now. We have taken them on several trips, climbing, they are comfortable and have not ripped or ripped yet.

Pros
  • My 10 year old daughter lasted a year without falling apart. She loves them so we bought them in the next size up when she outgrew them.
Cons
  • The shoes were marked with a W for width, but were a bit narrow in the crotch.

Size reference

First of all I really liked these shoes for my son! He is full of energy and in kindergarten he used these Merrell shoes daily for all activities and proved them to be durable. I liked them so much I wanted another pair for him. Unfortunately, his current shoes no longer show the size (the numbers have faded). Someone in the review here (or in the sizing notes) pointed out to use the numbers listed as inch size. It is not true. The photo shows "9W for toddlers aged 4-8". I thought it was 9…

Pros
  • Got this for my son, he just loves them. He's always up for an adventure, especially with this one. You are simply great!
Cons
  • May not be durable enough for long-term use

The strap broke after a week of wearing.

We really wanted to love this shoe. One of the straps broke a week after my toddler wore it. Also, they are very tight and difficult to put on.

Pros
  • Secure lacing system keeps foot snug in place
Cons
  • Lack of versatility in terms of style and color options

The rubber band broke on the first use.

Disappointed with the quality, especially at such a high price as the elastic cord literally broke the first time I used this shoe. We decided to keep it as the shoes still seem to be in working order and needed them immediately. Check the shoes you receive before allowing your child to wear them.

Pros
  • Always a good brand. Size fits and holds up well.
Cons
  • May not provide adequate support for flat feet

Great walking shoes suitable for me

Great walking shoes and look comfortable too my 4.5 year old. We rode them up the mountains a lot and they were perfect as it didn't trip or complain even when running over the rocks. And the quality seems good too. When the time comes, we'll be happy to buy the next size up!

Pros
  • Offers a comfortable and stylish alternative to bulky hiking shoes.
Cons
  • Possible discomfort and pain in the feet and ankles

The laces broke after the first use.

Very disappointed with this shoe but love the company so I'm giving 2 stars. I bought these for my 2 year old son to wear on our family trip to the mountains and the lace ripped the first time I wore it. My sons are very picky, so of course he refuses to wear them because the torn tendon bothers him.

Pros
  • Quality shoes that last. And if you need large sizes, this is the only choice.
Cons
  • May not provide enough cushioning for long hikes

Good quality shoes fit me

The shoes have a great design with a wide fit. A little big for my son but not too big. Sufficiently comfortable insole and excellent grip for cross-country running. The mesh allows the foot to "breathe". My son loves these shoes!

Pros
  • My grandson loves her. They fit perfectly and he has wide feet.
Cons
  • Limited Warranty Period

Good for long hikes

Bought these for my 9 year old daughter for a trip abroad that was going to involve a lot of walking and hiking. Had to try a few sizes and settled on 4.5 watts although she doesn't usually carry far. It was great for a 5-6 hour hike we did once including some difficult rocky areas. She also wears them on sports days at school. Expensive but worth it.

Pros
  • Lightweight velcro for a 3 year old child, fits true to size
Cons
  • May not be suitable for all types of terrain

Too difficult: my rating

My back bumped into my son's ankle and we're too tense. He needs softer shoes. Looked like a good shoe if you didn't have any sensory issues.

Pros
  • My 9 year old boy loves it!
Cons
  • The materials used may not withstand impacts on uneven terrain.

My son loves these shoes!

My toddler just loves them! They have great grip and should be comfortable as most of the time he prefers them to his other sneakers! Easy to turn on and off, very durable.

Pros
  • You had a month. They fit well and are comfortable for my active 6 year old boy.
Cons
  • Cute slippers and the kid loves it. But after only 3 weeks of normal wear, the velcro has already torn.

Perfect fit in my opinion

Update: Bought these shoes for the second time as daughter has outgrown her others. Definitely my favorite shoe for her. Was looking for good supportive shoes for my 1 year old daughter and they definitely fit perfectly.

Pros
  • Comodos, easy de limpiar, mi hijo los ama.
Cons
  • Blisters and other foot injuries are possible.

Good shoes - my review

My son loves these shoes. He just wants me to buy that style and color so he's had a pair since they first came out. My only complaint is that it seems to wear them out a little quicker than I expected. Usually around the toes or velcro straps are separated from the leather piece. However, this was a few months after they wore them every day and he is a very active kid. I bought him a new pair probably every 5-6 months. It's also his only pair of shoes. He's not even interested in trying/having

Pros
  • My kid loves these shoes because they look great and I love them because they are good quality.
Cons
  • Some children may find it difficult to tie thick shoelaces.

Great everyday school shoes for toddlers

My 2.5 year old wears them to school. He works part-time and they spend most of their time outside. They can get wet and dirty, they can be washed. Although more expensive, my child only needs a basic running shoe. They are durable and can carry another child or two.

Pros
  • The versatile design allows for use on and off the track.
Cons
  • Can be uncomfortable when standing for long periods

Uncomfortable best in my rating

I got a bigger width but the shoe still hurts my grandson. They were not agreeable to him. They were very tough. Bought a pair of Merrell sneakers for a 9 year old, he wore them for 45 minutes and the shoes were so uncomfortable he took them off never to wear them again. I will no longer buy their products.

Pros
  • The lightweight design offers freedom of movement and maneuverability
Cons
  • May not provide adequate arch support

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Okay, but... my verdict

Velcro is not long enough! They fit my son but when I tighten and fasten the velcro it only comes halfway. It hangs and works independently most of the time, but that seems like a big oversight.

Pros
  • My grandson is very active and this shoe does it. They are durable and wear well.
Cons
  • Slip ability on wet or uneven surfaces

The best shoes in my opinion

Merrill shoes seem to be the only brand that made baby strong! This is the only shoe that has stood up to my active boys and may hold up for some time into the school year! They are also really wide enough for my child with very wide feet! I will forever be a fan of Merrell shoes!

Pros
  • Very handy for a few days hiking in the mountains!
Cons
  • I sent my son to school in new shoes - he came home with a broken shoelace.

This is our 4th pair in this style.

My son loves his Merrells! This is his fourth pair in this style - I just order a bigger size and a different color each time. They might be a little pricey but they are durable. The fit has been great for an active boy with a high arch and slightly wider foot over the years. Super comfortable! They hold up very well and still look good after several washes. I'm sure we'll order the next size up again when they're done.

Pros
  • Affordable price makes it affordable for thrifty buyers
Cons
  • May not be suitable for use in dirty or wet environments

Continuous! .... - my new rating

This shoe is durable and comfortable. The best thing is the grip! They are not slippery, you can walk and walk and your child will be safe! It's perfect for any place! Highly recommended!

Pros
  • The perfect shoe for kids who love to explore the great outdoors.
Cons
  • May not be suitable for people with certain foot conditions

Great running shoes for my 1 year old. She wore them for days on 3+ mile hikes (on and off) and never complained. Available in a wide range of sizes for a perfect fit!

Pros
  • Available in a variety of sizes for the perfect fit
Cons
  • Not suitable for fancier occasions
