Buy the one that suits you

This was perfect for my setup in a 1997 Ford F150. It also has an extra wiring harness connector which I haven't used and which I believe will fit other vehicles. If you need to fit a radio in your Ford this is the one for you and it's not too expensive.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • -

Complete crap. Both of my factory amps blew up instantly. Had to rewire all my speakers and it should have been plug and play with some twisted wires. I've installed hundreds of car stereos and I know exactly how to do it. Would give all zeros if I could. BUYERS ATTENTION. WILL NEVER RECOMMEND OR BUY AGAIN.

Pros
  • Good product for its price
Cons
  • Will be added later

Precision wiring harness adapter for '97 Ford Ranger. Used when .

Exact seat belt adapter for '97 Ford Ranger. Used when replacing the factory radio. The wire colors match exactly and even the labels are printed right on the wires where they go. Couldn't be easier. Just remember that when connecting to your new stereo wiring harness, you will need wire nuts or crimp connectors for a more comfortable fit. I think you could just use duct tape if that's your thing.

Pros
  • Hard Trim
Cons
  • Unreliable

Doesn't fit my 1997 Ford Ranger XLT Splash

Doesn't fit my '97 Ford Ranger pickup (XLT Splash). When I checked "my garage" here on Revain, it was listed as fitting my truck, but it wasn't. My truck's OEM cassette radio requires a quality Metra audio harness, part number 70-5603, for my Metra Technical Support call. Just a note for anyone who owns this car. The suspension itself seemed fine and the Metra tech support was great. I only gave 3 stars because of the wrong list of Revain apps.

what's not to love?

There's nothing quite like plug and play with color coding to match. This kit was absolutely right for my car as advertised. I checked all wire color matches and then simply soldered them to the matching color wires from the wire harness that came with the radio. A little heat shrink tubing and a heat gun insulated everything. The easiest way to install an aftermarket without having to damage your existing wiring harness.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks

Easy. but effective.

Designed to connect to the factory wiring harness and allows you to fit a custom radio without having to cut into the factory wiring. A simple two-connector kit with speaker wires labeled for their location (saves time) and a reference table on the packaging that provides information on what each wire does (power, ground, antenna power, radio memory, etc.). As well as the correct slots, so you can only connect them correctly with the appropriate plugs. If you are looking to replace your…

Significant time saver for in-car AV installation

F150 XLT 1997 All connections and soldering conveniently in your living room. They took it to the truck, plugged it in and everything healed. Super practical solution. The only problem is that the dash light pinout was one pin further to the right. After realizing that the new head unit doesn't dim with the backlight, and after some testing, I realized that the pin needs to be moved one spot to the left. It's not overly difficult to operate but does require some effort as the plastic mechanism…

Makes installing a secondary stereo a breeze

Even though I ordered the wrong model (Premium version required), I was still able to use one of the outlets. The speaker wire harness on a premium stereo is different and I had to look at the OEM radio before ordering. However, despite my fault, these are excellent harnesses and I will continue to use them for all of my stereo setups. Incidentally, due to a previous ordering error, I already had the correct speaker terminals in my "spare parts box", so all I needed was the amp bypass harness…

Save your suspension!

Used on Ford Focus SVT with 9006 audiophile audio system with subwoofer. This wiring harness adapter set is great for everything but steering wheel controls and subwoofers*. The problem is that there is no documentation showing which orientation the connector mates with. At first I didn't see how the connectors would fit, so I called tech support. They assured me it would fit and a few minutes on the phone and I was ready to go, +1 for good tech support. The cables were well labeled and the…
