Works on 2002 CRV

I understand why people are unhappy with this product - you have to modify it to work on your specific car and it's not easy. And just because it is a universal kit type (fits Acura/Honda/Isuzu 1990-2006), it may not fit your car perfectly. In my case I have a 2002 Honda CRV that I am working on. This is NOT an intuitive setup or easy process, but it works.

It's like a Swiss Army knife; it "fits" many Honda and Acura models. But it takes a lot of patience and care to fix everything. The instructions are sufficient, but it is not very clear which parts/tabs/brackets need to be removed to "fit" YOUR car. My '96 Accord had all of the mounting brackets removed except for four small nicks on the trim cap. I used a Dremel cutting wheel (loved the smell and the mess or melting of plastic) to remove the outer burrs. Everything went fine except for the two

Hard to get it working on a 1997 Honda Accord

So this dash kit is what I consider my first 'failed' install. Problem 1: To install this in a 1997 contract you must use the factory mounting points. The attachment point for this kit turns out to be a bracket that screws into the underside of the "frame". I have the suggested screws and lo and behold. The screws were too long! They actually performed in the frame! I decided to use an angle grinder to grind down the screws so they wouldn't damage the radio when installing it. Good point 1…
