Must have if you have a mid 2000's Pontiac

I was about to install an aftermarket head unit on my car. More specifically, the Android head unit. If anyone has a 2000-2009 Pontiac, they know they need it because GM designed it so stupidly that if you don't have it you can't plug in your radio and get it working if you don't have it it. Other options run a jumper wire to your fuse box. which I didn't want to do, or hardwired it and cut off the factory harness adapter. something else I didn't want to do. when I hooked this up and then…

Pros
  • Provides an additional 12 volt DC 3A output
Cons
  • No power

Worked perfectly the first time.

I had to install aftermarket on my 2003 Silverado. I needed suspension and wanted to keep all my calls and features for my main work truck. It worked great. It didn't get any easier. You must connect all harness wires to aftermarket harness wires. If you can match colors and follow instructions, you can do it. Then just connect all the wiring harnesses and connect the wiring harness to the radio and if you did everything right it will work great. I had no problems and my ignition horn works…

Pros
  • Saves RAP when available
Cons
  • Available in black only

Restored my calls

My used GM car came with an aftermarket radio that was hard wired with the radio plug removed on the side of the car. The car was originally set to play beeps through the radio and turn the radio on and off over the car's LAN. As a result there were no beeps and the ignition connector on the radio was connected to the battery (always hot). Using the VOM, the wire labels on this unit, and the car's wiring diagrams, I was able to make the necessary connections to restore the beeps and turn on the

Ideal. Easy to install, works exactly as advertised.

Do you know what I like? I love it when, after finding out I have to spend money on something that says it will solve a problem, it does exactly what it says on the tin, with no hiccups. I like that. It took a while to install, but it's very easy. Basically, you have to spend time connecting about 25 pairs of wires together. But that's all. The wire color guide was perfect, it was very easy. Then I hooked everything up and followed their little one time procedure where you have to start the…

Pros
  • Car electronics
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Installation exactly as expected, you will need to line up the wires on the new head unit harness with the wires on the Metra LC-GMRC-01 interface, documentation is present quite easy. I made connections and temporarily insulated them with tape, tested the new radio and truck horn. Thermal insulation tape for professional finishes, I think electrical tape will do, but it tends to disintegrate over time when the car's interior reaches 120 degrees if left outside in the sun. These are the wire…

Pros
  • Car audio and video system
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
