worked 10 months.

When they work, they're great. I have 6 of these and 4 of them stopped working after 10 months of daily use. Be careful if you're looking for something that will last a while.

Great radios and WAY better than Motorola!

The best radios we've ever bought! We use them EVERY DAY for at least 12 hours per shift at our dog hotel. The supplied original batteries are NOT included! as they don't last long but just buy better rechargeable batteries and they will last MUCH longer.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Works perfectly. Best CB and Talkback Radios

Based on other reviews I'm sure this product works great. Buyers should know that I thought I would get the same units if I bought 4 packs, but I got two, 2 packs. So it is cheaper to buy two packs of 2 instead of 4 packs. I'm pretty sure the same goes for 6 packs.

Pros
  • Very Impressive
Cons
  • Doubtful

If you live in a city, your range is less than a few blocks.

The assortment in the city is very poor. The range should be up to 36 kilometers. That won't happen in the city. A few blocks was the best I could get. I would consider 2 for camping but don't need 4. Price was good but they didn't live up to my expectations. Open Range is better I'm sure. The voice is clear.

Pros
  • Robust design
Cons
  • Other interesting options are available.

Good universal walkie-talkies

These radios performed very well on a recent trip/hike with several families. The range was good, the transmissions were clear. However, batteries have a very short lifespan, less than a day. So I switched to AA alkaline batteries and they last more than a week. The multipack was very good as each adult could get one as we coordinated with different children. Note that you can select FRS channels and work at low power without an FCC license, but for better range you need to use high power GMRS…

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • The list is getting long.

Very happy with CB and talkback radios

Can't say I've used a lot of these. I bought these for the kids as a Christmas present, but I've also bought them for the family for hiking, camping, and in case of an emergency. Bought 2 xtalkers 4 years ago to compare. I still have xtalker but they are clearly intended as a backup. The most important thing is the range. Gxt is far superior to them and I haven't tried to max it yet. So far, houses and trees haven't stopped gxt. The most impressive challenge was that my friends and I went…

Large group of radios for events!

These were reliable walkie talkies and overall well worth the price. We have used them for day and night camps. We had no problems with signal strength in a 15,000 foot building and within a half block radius of the building to a local playground or 50 acres or so where we were at an overnight camp near Yosemite. The only problem we had in the mountains was that they occasionally pick up trucker radios from the freeway 10 miles away! If we had cellular to review the manual, there's sure to be a
