When they work, they're great. I have 6 of these and 4 of them stopped working after 10 months of daily use. Be careful if you're looking for something that will last a while.

The best radios we've ever bought! We use them EVERY DAY for at least 12 hours per shift at our dog hotel. The supplied original batteries are NOT included! as they don't last long but just buy better rechargeable batteries and they will last MUCH longer.

Based on other reviews I'm sure this product works great. Buyers should know that I thought I would get the same units if I bought 4 packs, but I got two, 2 packs. So it is cheaper to buy two packs of 2 instead of 4 packs. I'm pretty sure the same goes for 6 packs.

The assortment in the city is very poor. The range should be up to 36 kilometers. That won't happen in the city. A few blocks was the best I could get. I would consider 2 for camping but don't need 4. Price was good but they didn't live up to my expectations. Open Range is better I'm sure. The voice is clear.

So I switched to AA alkaline batteries and they last more than a week. The multipack was very good as each adult could get one as we coordinated with different children. We had no problems with signal strength in a 15,000 foot building and within a half block radius of the building to a local playground or 50 acres or so where we were at an overnight camp near Yosemite.
