VERY limited range best for portable audio and video

I don't know how they list a range of up to 16 miles. We just used them for a trip from Florida to Pennsylvania. A range of 1.6 miles should probably be specified. The firing range certainly did not exceed 2 miles. If you were close to another car they worked fine, but to be honest anything further than a mile away was poor or didn't work at all. They didn't satisfy my need for them at all.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • safety

Drunk, ordered for my neighbor

Drinking and going on Revain was never the best idea, at least for me, but it led to these bad guys, so I can't get too excited. They're gorgeous, have incredible range, and sound great for $10 each. You do need 4 AAA batteries though, so I'd recommend stocking up on these Revain essentials while you're at it.

Pros
  • Multiple competitors
Cons
  • Functionality

It's probably better there.

We made them communicate with my son on the way to school and back. It's a little under half a mile. The school is 1 next street behind our house. Directly behind our 3 houses then open field to the school. The sound quality is very poor for this distance. I was very disappointed as there isn't much interference between the two points. They are easy to use and small.

Pros
  • The best
Cons
  • There are flaws

Great product at a great price.

Bought to go for a walk or just walk around the apartment complex when our kid runs with friends. We've been a little wary of just using the batteries, but we've yet to replace them and have been using them regularly for about a month. The NOAA alert feature is great as we like to know when severe weather is coming (we live in the Midwest so tornadoes are not uncommon).

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • I really don't like it, everything is fine

fun and helpful. in CB and talkback radios

Santa gave my family a set of these. First I let the kids choose their favorite colors, and then my mom and I get out the leftovers. That's the first thrill. My 8 year old daughter loves the hidden weather radio function. When no one is in the mood for trifles, she turns on the weather radio and feels very important. My friend and her daughter are very clumsy, so their daughters have taken quite a beating on hard floors and sidewalks and they still walk like champions. The battery clips can be…

Pros
  • Nice to use

Great radio for kids (and adults) - not a toy but simplicity.

This is a great radio for kids (and adults). I bought these before camping for my 3, 5 and 7 year olds (see my herbal remedies for insanity review for that lol). I used a pair of $100 Midelan X-Talker radios to talk to them. All radios were equally good, although they cost $10 a radio and X-Talker cost $50 a radio. Of course, we didn't need a lot of extra channels and didn't check range since we were only a mile apart in the wooded area where we lived. However, it was perfect. My 5 and 7 year…

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Hardly ever

I have several Talkabout FRS radios that have much better sound and range than this one, but the antenna covers have snapped off and there is no way to replace or repair them. For the price, these Midland T20 radios are great. First, the antennas will never break since they are actually part of the case. These radios have 38 CTCSS codes, which is a great feature at this price point. I use NiMH batteries because I use the radio every day. Unfortunately, these radios do not have a long range…

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Only available in white
