Good choice for electronics.

I love this band. I'm a handyman at heart and use it in many places where I would normally use duct tape. It has higher physical puncture resistance as well as excellent electrical insulating properties.

  • Weight
Cons
  • Protection

Ideal for installing tubeless rims

I love this tape for installing tubeless mountain bike rims. Comes with a lot more than a regular roll of tubeless tape, if you mess up a wheel it's no big deal. I've made two sets of wheels and there are many more left.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Only available in black

The best tape you can find.

I mainly use this for my electronics hobby, but the glue doesn't crack even when heated. So I used it to fix many things like the PAS sensor on my e-bike. It's almost a year on now and it's still hard to peel off even when it gets wet. It also leaves no traces.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Nothing

This is Kapton Tape.: Adhesive Tapes

If you look through this list you either already know what this material is, or you don't understand why this material keeps popping up when you search for adhesive tape. Kapton is fantastic: it's megohm resistance, it's perfectly clean, it lasts forever, it's UV resistant, it has a bajillion degree temperature range, and given its usefulness I'd say it's pretty damn cheap. Abandon this miracle and join the Kapton cult.

Pros
  • Easy to Use
Cons
  • Some Cons

Went like clockwork!

I had a GPU that needed a reflow. Sure, you can bake it in the oven like a caveman or use a heat gun like a pro, but you always want everything to be safe and tidy and you can work where you want to work. The band turned on and off without issue and protected the rest of the GPU from unwanted or unnecessary heat from the heat gun. No traces were left after removal and I have to recommend this to anyone who needs to either desolder or heat base/matter electrical components.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Works as advertised.

Assembling battery packs (LiPO SPIM08HP) to replace constantly failing Ryobi batteries (2 of 4 40v batteries have failed since 2016, even when I restored them they only lasted another year ). I have used Kapton tape in production for many years and am pleased to see it available in retail. As previously mentioned, the tape leaves NO marks when removed, offers excellent electrolytic resistance and withstands soldering better than any other tape. Price.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • No memory

Not as hard as I thought it would be.

I used this to seal the edge of a razor I was sharpening. Black electrical tape is usually used, but I've heard that Kapton tape is stiffer but much thinner than electrical tape. Maybe it's just not the best brand for my purposes, but I won't buy it again. That's not to say it's a bad tape, it might work fine for the purpose it was designed for, but for me it was a waste of money. I gave three stars for heat resistance because I have no idea how it performs in such conditions, but I had to give

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Updates available
