If you have eSata but don't have USB 3, get this.

I've had this eSata/USB 3 case for a 9 year old Bought an old Dell laptop. This Dell N5010 (8GB RAM - a cheap $20 upgrade from 4G) was very productive but held back due to slow USB 2 for backup. Since I like to drive my computers completely into the ground until it's time to move on, $48 for more functionality seemed like a good idea. With eSata (USB 3 cannot be used simultaneously and I don't have a USB 3 port anyway) I tried speed tests with "Crystal Disk Mark" on different drives. My main…

Pros
  • Interface: USB-C (10Gb/s) and eSATA 6G
Cons
  • Good but not great

High expectations for computers and accessories

I had high hopes for this; Storage 4 TB, good reviews. However, 6 months after purchase, 4 months after I started using it, I get "Unknown USB device (device descriptor request failed)". I've tried everything including getting a new USB cable, updating Windows, messing around with power settings, going into device manager and uninstalling, checking for updated drivers, and more. The same happens when connecting to other computers. Cannot access the data even if the drive is not visible.

Pros
  • Asmedia 235CM and 1542 high performance integrated controller with UASP
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Sturdy and well designed outer case for 2.5 " drives

I use many different hard drives to record audio and store old files, different to transfer things between different computers (even those with different operating systems), so I have a large number of different external drive cases, of which I have to put the Oyen Digital Minipro at the top along with a few others. The two format options available (USB-c - backward compatible with the appropriate adapter - and e-SATA) are perfect for my particular situation. fast and the heat dissipation…

Pros
  • Incredibly durable - no moving parts, withstands heavy impact (18G under shock loading)
Cons
  • Factor set

Convenient use product

We will buy this handy box again to increase the security of our information. We used them to back up development libraries and create backup copies of devices from which we want to restore information in the event that your operating system or its components are damaged. It's practical: I can use the media depending on the device, eSata or USB, with this new one we check if it's faster to make these backups, we insert a 1TB SSD and make a backup in 1/10 of the time that was consumed with a…

Pros
  • USB power adapter or external adapter (included)
Cons
  • Contact seller

Don't buy if you use eSATA connector.

I bought this case with the intention of installing an SSD in it and connecting it to my computer (tower configuration, 6Gb/s bus speed) via the eSATA port. I had another 2.5" eSATA/USB enclosure (Vantec NexStar) that I also tested. For testing, I used the same eSATA port on the computer and the same SSD in the cases. I used my ROM bios to verify that everything is configured correctly and that the SATA3 enclosure (6Gb/s) and the SSD appear correctly on the computer's eSATA port. I also checked

Pros
  • 3 year warranty

  • Was damaged
