Doesn't work with pop sockets, tends to sideways or upside down. So if you plan to use it with a pop jack just look for another design. It ripped off the vent and I can't fix it easily, it broke the hinge. The magnet is strong, works with a magnetic plate.

I really like it but I tried to make a magnetic mount but I think my XS Max with a phone case is too heavy so it doesn't hold at all. Love love love the popsocket mount! It feels solid so that's a plus, I only gave 4 stars because I wanted the magnetic mount to work with my phone but other than that this product is amazing!

Looks like it will work fine now that I've modified it a bit. The older Camry I installed mine in had horizontal air vents that don't seem to be as deep as most and the clip couldn't be screwed in deep enough to hold it in place. I fixed it by putting a PVC tie around it (see photo, this is a 3/4" SCH40 PVC tie I sawed off 1/2" the end). Also, none of the packages (I bought 2) had iron plates. They should have it in, but I bought them for the pop socket feature, so it didn't bother me.

I LOVE this thing! I'm probably really excited about this product because the horrible holder I've used before was the absolute worst. but now? Clean. Continuous. Ideal. bliss. I haven't given enough thought to the concept of retractable phone holders. I have found that this is not the best way to hold your phone due to the nature of the pop socket which allows the phone to rotate freely. When you turn a corner, your phone shakes. This was a great purchase for my car. The instruction manual was really helpful and I didn't get confused by the instructions. Once installed it was easy to set up. No more dealing with glued parts or the glue won't stick anymore. I highly recommend this car mount to anyone who has a pop up on the back of their phone. I ordered this to replace all the others I had and I have had several. I like having a power socket on the back of the phone, which of course is also in a case.
