Attempting to install this without removing the intake manifold is crazy, but I managed it after removing the power steering pump and bending some of the fuel lines. Mishimoto's video shows almost all of the effort required.

Excellent fit. I was able to install it without removing the intake manifold. I only had to remove the hp alternator/pump and expansion tank and a few hoses and vacuum lines that I removed from the turbo before installing the turbo inlet to do the exhaust work but I think it could have been done, by leaving it alone.

Very tight fit. Contrary to some information I found online, I had to remove the intake manifold to install it as the fuel lines were in the way and had to be removed to accommodate the hose. You will need a silicone hose to connect to the MAF/Filter box. Mishimoto MMHOSE-WRX-AM7RD Red 76mm Silicone Airbox Hose works great with it.

Whoever complains is a child with weak hands. If you unbolt the steering pump's hard line, unclip the wiring harness on the side, smooth down the sharp metal edges in that area with a small file, and foam up the inlet and the area it goes through, it's a no-brainer. You have to keep one hand at the entrance to push it and the other hand to pull it over obstacles/maneuver around them. Fused metal fittings are a minor hindrance, but not a problem. Spend the extra money and get a proven part that really fits, from Perrin or Cobb. This interferes with the factory power steering at the front of the engine. The locations and dimensions of the fittings are incorrect except for 2. The main section where they attach to the turbine is not properly designed. I had to remove the air intake to fit it. I wouldn't force/tear it into that bottleneck. I'm not giving a star for that as it was to be expected. Some people say you can bend and squeeze these hoses, but I didn't want to risk it. just a few small problems with setting ports. 1) The bypass port could be a bit closer to the end of the turbo. 2) The PCV breather may be closer to the front of the car, it's pressed against my intake manifold.
