01 Cummins 24v Diesel Engine

It did an excellent job on my Cummins keeping temperatures between 175-195 and towing 28,000 pounds. Worst of all, the spring and bottom washer fell off after 4,000 miles. Much better than Gates T-Stat when lifting weight.

Pros
  • Ideal for vehicles in warm climates or extreme towing/driving conditions
Cons
  • Negative Present

NO NO NO! almost burned out my Cummins

My Cummins started to heat up and then cool down, I switched to this overpriced thermostat in hopes it would be amazing would have driven on the Autobahn first. I was overheated and didn't want to open. I installed it and it's been working fine ever since. 2 months later and still working perfectly. don't get involved. I put a star because they came back right away, maybe $$

Pros
  • Mishimoto Activation: 180F (82C) / OEM Activation: 190F (87.5C)
Cons
  • Out of fashion

I would buy a Stant

. I installed one of these thermostats when building a Mishimoto radiator on a Cummings diesel. It worked really cool for a few days and then seemed to open later and later. He adjusted the opening from 205 to 210 and kept the car temp around 205 and obviously higher when towing. I let it run for a few months. I was frustrated that he was 180 stats and picking up the pace so much before I saw him open. I added an equivalent stant and it opens earlier and runs about 5 degrees cooler at 80 mph…

Pros
  • . A lower activation temperature allows the coolant to flow through the engine sooner.
Cons
  • volume

Poor workmanship Killed almost $10,000 Cummins diesel

I installed in my 2004 piston diesel. So I went on vacation to tow a big trailer. I thought cooling would help. The thermostat fell apart, the washer fell off the bottom and clogged my cooling system. Horribly overheated until I got to an auto parts store in Tennessee and replaced it with a stock AutoZone unit. It cost me an extra day on the road. I missed my 50th Annual Fourth of July River Walk while on vacation. Cost me hundreds of dollars and nearly cost a diesel engine pulling out a small…

Pros
  • Mishimoto lifetime warranty
Cons
  • poorly thought out
