Update. My husband contacted Mission Belt Co. and they quickly sent a free replacement buckle. But the leather on the first belt he bought just over three years ago has started to tear and now needs to be replaced. So it lasted about three years and wore it a few times a week which I don't think is very good for the price. He really likes the belts, just wish they were more durable. This product is very mislabeled. The strap has snapped in half. Dyed compressed fibers are compressed in the middle, similar to leather grain, it crumbles into tiny loose fibers. The cover was a type of stretchy, rubbery vinyl that had fibers sticking to one side of the vinyl and starting to tear. Took about a month for the "skin" to crack like a piece of plastic. Very bad quality. I have used Mission Belts before but the quality is very disappointing compared to the price.

I have several mission belts, everything was fine until recently. As you can see in the picture, one of my belts has a large vertical tear near the buckle. The company claims that their product is synthetic coated leather. I've never seen my skin react like that. This material feels and behaves very differently from leather (such a gap is typical of man-made material). In theory this belt is a great idea but they made a small mistake in design and execution. I love that the strap and buckle are interchangeable, but here's the problem. Every day before putting on the belt, I have to open the buckle, straighten and fasten the belt. I have two Mission belts and was very happy to get this one after getting my first. However, I was surprised by the lack of durability of the buckle itself when it came to the paint job. After a month or two the paint started peeling and now I have an all silver buckle that doesn't look pretty at all. Luckily the rest of the strap (including the buckle mechanics) exceeded my expectations! Overall I love the belt and the company, just wish the color held up.
