I've used almost all the best American, Swiss and Japanese microphones for over forty years. I bought the same mic 25-30 years ago and it still works great. Just bought another one for my backup. It is thin, durable and adapts perfectly to the hand and fingers.

Pros
  • Carbide coated spindle and anvil for durability
Cons
  • Can't remember

When I first received this micrometer I thought it was too small to be useful. I figured I was having trouble reading the scale and would need to use a magnifying glass. But man, that thing is cute. The markings are so clear they are easy to read even on 0.0001 inch plywood. This is a great tool. It's heavy and works like a jewel watch. I'm so impressed that I went with the 1-2 inch model. This is as close to perfection as I can imagine.

Pros
  • Tapered frame for measuring narrow gaps and hard to reach places
Cons
  • Expensive

Still perfect and still made in Japan

I bought one of these 101-117 mics a few weeks ago to replace the one I bought around 1980, and have lost about 10 years ago. I can't remember what the part number of the old one was, but this new one seems to be the same and just as good in every way. That makes me very happy, because a lot of what was great a long time ago was botched or simply discontinued at some point later. a nozzle that can be attached to one end when you want to measure the wall thickness of a pipe or other curved…

Pros
  • Metric vernier for accurate outside diameter (OD) measurements
Cons
  • Doubt
