Disappointed with this micrometer

This micrometer WAS a letdown. Despite being categorized as "Industrial and Scientific", it was difficult to use and gave inconsistent readings. Thanks to my knowledge gained in practice I was able to determine that this product is not up to par. The only upside was the interchangeable graduation. Overall, I would not recommend this to anyone in need of precise dimensional measurement..

Pros
  • Interchangeable graduations provide flexibility for different measurement needs.
Cons
  • Requires additional cost for purchasing interchangeable graduated scales.

It's actually not a vernier

It has a scale from 0 to 0.5 in 0.025 increments on the main line, then 1-25 marks 0.001 of the dial from 0.001 to 0.025, but NO 1-10 scale "vernier" on the other side of the dial like my outdoor micrometer. You can only guess the number on the dial by half the distance between measurements like 0.001 and 0.002. It has a nice feel and good quality and it came with 1 rod which I didn't take out. May return.

Pros
  • clamp to hold measurements in place
Cons
  • faint
