Works well. no complaints.

I was a bit concerned after seeing some negative reviews. but i had no problems and found the iron strong enough. If you're used to weak 30 or 40 watt irons, be careful with this huge 100 watt iron; It's slightly larger so it can be uncomfortable and it might be easier to overheat the component. but I plugged it in, did a quick can and started soldering. No problem. It could become my new favorite (electric) iron.

  • Very good price

  • Exorbitant price

At least it does its job

When I first plugged it in to let it heat up I thought it would light up with all the smoke and flame sounds but after 5 or 10 minutes the smoke and the Device started to melt solder. It took about 20 minutes to fully heat up to tin the 4 gauge wire cable and attach the electrical tips. It seemed like a long time but since I haven't used this big iron in over 40 years it might be ok. I did the job I bought it for and didn't burn out which is why it gets 5 stars.

Terribly bad cheap and flawed

I wanted it to be at a good price but as soon as I plugged it in it burst and fried. You could understand why; It's cheaply made, weak and flexible parts, tiny wiring, poorly installed fasteners, and a tendency to short circuit. A look at the plastic screw designed to secure the zipper cord wire (lighting cord) alerts you to the dangers of this design. Not worth half the price. After mine failed immediately, I bought this one from Revain: EXSO High Temp Heavy Duty Soldering for Large Ground…
