I wanted to buy a diamond hole saw.

I wanted to buy a diamond hole saw but it was cheaper and as I only had to cut one hole I wanted to get it as cheap as possible. I had some doubts about the carbide tip but it chewed right through the stone I needed to get the desiccant through and the teeth feel as sharp as new afterwards.

Pros
  • 1 hole saw per box
Cons
  • No instructions

This product is great for splints and cast

This product is great for splints and cast. I've used it occasionally in combination with another hole saw (E0206016 3-3/8" RemGrit Carbide Hole Saws, 86mm) which works well on plaster but not so well on battens. I've switched/alternated both. So far it has been used for about 20 holes with plaster and laths and no signs of dulling.

Pros
  • Ground and adjustable teeth help cut materials bi-metal saws can't cut
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Good product, reasonable price.

I cut 18 holes for recessed lighting in 1950's plaster ceilings. On the 18th hole, this saw didn't cut as well as the first hole. When I started this project, I knew it wasn't the right tool for the job. A suitable tool is a hard metal sand hole saw, which, however, is almost twice as expensive. Since this is a one-off job, the carbide tip did the job. It worked as expected.

Pros
  • Maximum cutting depth 1-1/2 in.
Cons
  • Some errors
