20% too tight for records!

About 20% of them fail the record! Not sure where they get good reviews from as I've seen them tight but tight is unacceptable to me. I buy a new or used record, clean it, change the cover (formerly this one, now Diskeeper 2.0) and store the record. About 1 in 5 is so dense I throw it away. The rest is tight but I thought they would stretch a little. What I've found over time is that they don't stretch and I actually have to pull my blank record out of this sleeve with my fingers. Maybe I was…

These cases protect my records.

I'm getting back into vinyl and building my collection, so I realized that the regular paper sleeves or printed cardboard sleeves that come with many records wouldn't be the best way to protect my expensive vintage and Audiophiles keep records, so I tried three well-known brands that did well. Turntable Labs hard plastic inner sleeves are too hard and sticky, difficult to open to slip a record in and out, which feels like a source of static electricity and may even pose a risk of scratching the

The quality of MoFi continues to decline.

As I watched the quality control of Mobile Fidelity's products steadily deteriorate over the past five years or so, it seemed like their archive covers were one of the few things they could still do well and solidly. . Well, now it seems that even these simplest items are no longer immune to their increasingly lax quality control standards. The last packs I bought have always been smaller in diameter. They are now empirically about 1/8 inch smaller than the MoFi cases that came out about a year

Basically, I use three types of record inner sleeves: 1) Anti-Static DiscKeeper 2.0 sleeves - you can get them for $9.99 + $3 by mail delivered directly from the town of Rukava or here on Revain. for $14.99 Prime. I use them for most of my mid to mid range vinyl records and they are a good all round case at a reasonable price. They have a 2.0mm case and I don't try to fit them into the sleeve of a record sleeve as they tend to wrinkle. I put the record cover in the outer sleeve, then I put this

Almost the industry standard for high quality inner sleeves.

Real question: Why would I bother changing the inner sleeves on my vinyl records? The most extreme example of "why?" I've experienced: I recently found a sealed original edition of "The Rite of Spring" by Ozawa on RCA, 1968. I paid a little more for it as it was still sealed, opened it up and found that the original RCA plastic inner sleeve had chemically reacted with the surface of the record, rendering the record, which was otherwise intact and fresh from the factory, permanent was damaged…
