Scratches on the basket Rails

I am ordering this item because I am planning a holiday trip with my family but when I opened the box I suggested assembling it and I did it over the carpet to avoid scratches , then I noticed a few scratches on a rail basket during assembly, I am attaching some photos of the scratches. Very nice until it got wet the first time and then started weeping like rust

The product came a few days earlier than planned at a fair price. A simple assembly search showed me a two minute assembly and installation video from the manufacturer, very easy. The product was as listed, looked good and saved a lot of space for a week long hike with 2 fridges and 1 cooler bag. The luggage net, straps and stabilizer are all pluses and the trailer didn't rattle noticeably. The flex in the support beam was nice as it was easy to drive flush with the cab stem and park over/over…

Good size carrier: Cargo Carriers

Time will tell if it will rust. It was the perfect size for our Tahoe. Exhaust pipe heater depends on where your exhaust pipe is located on your vehicle. My Tahoe exhaust exits on the right side behind the right rear wheel. My 4x4 Tahoe never bottomed out, but we pulled in and out of the parking lot carefully.
