This drain is suitable for kitchen and bathroom appliances

As with the main drains, this Moen part is a good value for money. It is well made and inexpensive. Despite the claims of other reviewers, the ability to attract a magnet doesn't mean it's not stainless steel. There are different types of stainless steel. Some are magnetic. Some not. It doesn't have to be everyone. One thing I want to say about this build is the neck depth, which I'm not crazy about. The part that receives the center pin on the filter basket is set fairly low. So if you use a…

Keep looking - cheap and very small (probably too small)

Quick test - cheap, small and you need putty. I should have read the other reviews but I was in a hurry. It doesn't fit in my sink because it's so small. This only works well on sinks with very thin walls. My sink was a regular cast iron sink and there weren't enough threads to properly connect the drain line. It's also very light and cheap. I bought a replacement from Ace for $19, brass body with stainless steel finish - much nicer and heavier. It was only 1/2 inch lower but that made all the…

Not what I expected but still a very good product.

Received this in January 2016. The bottom of the drain strainer is below where the bottom nut is in the picture and not flush with the sink. So unless you have REALLY SMALL hands you might be able to fit two fingers in the 2 inch hole. That being said, on my old drain, my pipe went in at the bottom where the nut is, but on this one it went flush with it and I had to cut much of the pipe off my existing rubber grommet to get it flush to the inside of the sink make, I recommend that you still use

Great for a new job or replacement

This is a really good product and also less expensive than many others available. It requires no putty. and instead has a thin rubber disk under the rim in the bowl. If it has any flaws none of the plumbing tools I have will fit. Another good feature: It doesn't have a 4" OD 3-1/8" ID nut, but instead has a body with a nut that will most likely fit a large open-end wrench pressing against the washers underneath. (See photo in product description.) I managed to tighten it enough. To connect to…

Works great without filler (see review)

Our kitchen sink was starting to leak around the drain so it was time to replace the strainer. On our old screen, the putty seems to have dried out and chipped off the seal. We bought this because of the extra seal it came with and not having to rely on plumber's putty again. However, some of the other reviews bothered us so we decided to try and test it without putty first before plugging in the entire drain pipe and we had no leaks. A few tips for people having trouble 1.) Make sure the…
