Did exactly what it was supposed to do. I got rid of the old yellowed pen. It took a small flathead screwdriver to pry off the old cover. But then everything fit like the original and looked great!

. I bought this 7/8/20, installed it after a few weeks and it was already broken. Not even 2.5 months have passed. I'm surprised the original Moen lasted 20 years. I'm not sure if the quality has changed or I just got a broken one, but I'm disappointed 🙁

It fits what it replaces as it is clean and looks like it will last. But I bought it to replace the Moen 96828 pen, Moen said it would fit, it didn't. The rear shaft that connects to the cartridge is not long enough (about 1/2 inch). Return not expensive enough. Spoke to Moen this morning (glad they called btw). and the replacement for 96828 is 96797 (not 96782 as I thought).

If you're a tight buck, this isn't for you. Even I, a top brand shopper willing to shell out money for the right product, shuddered at the price. However, once they have arrived and installed I can say that they are really beautiful. They come with the right hardware. If you have the money, I highly recommend decorating your sink.

The process was simple, easy and took about a minute. You don't need to turn off the water as the pen requires no action from you other than fitting it onto the end of the Moen 1225 cartridge. Once installed, the pen should work smoothly and without the extra effort required to rotate it , press or pull out. I was very pleased with how easy it was to swap out the old handle for the new one.
