I liked that the installation is very easy. The stand required a bit of sanding to fit. It's not a problem for me, but I can already see where a person with no production experience will get upset.

Only added 4 stars because I don't think it's the highest quality but it actually looks solid , how I see it. I had to add a stopper to avoid scratching the chain while riding. I know the reason for this is because this part is for the 500x model, not the 500f.

I'm very handy with a wrench so I bought it as it was about 30% cheaper than the original Honda center stand thinking that I can make it fit if it doesn't exist. Well it fitted my bike perfectly in minutes. I also ordered a spring puller but didn't need it and didn't work. I used a screwdriver to harden the spring and once I had it in place I just played around with it a bit and it was on, not too hard.

I was a little nervous about buying because there was only one review. But it fits perfectly, installs very easily (30 minutes) and works great. I have used the method of installing several flat washers between the coils of the spring to lengthen the spring prior to installation and then removing the washers after the spring has engaged. Stand came without instructions. Installation seemed easy to me. I, like others, had to do some sanding on both sides of the bike's footpeg tube. Upon inspection I found that the welds were of very poor quality. They probably fit, but didn't look good. The hardest part of the installation is installing the spring. After installing the stand, I pushed down on the stand and lifted the bike up as expected. The footpeg rotation didn't stop under the bike, but reversed so it was actually tilted…

This center stand works as expected. The included spring feels a little too stretched when the stand is down, but time will tell. Breaks in properly (see argument #3) and fits snugly against the rubber bumper on the factory muffler tongue. Simple tools to do it...well, except for the peanut grinder part.
