Sewing Useful Article: Sewing

I had no idea ironing mats existed but now that I have one I can't sew without it next to me. What a great idea. I have nothing to compare this 17x13 New Zealand mat to, but it does the job perfectly. Thick fur, nice, smooth, relatively hard surface and a good size for the handwork I do. The included silicone ironing stand/mat is welcome, thanks. I use it with a small steam iron and it protects my desk well. Great article.

Great product but be careful.

I love this pull mat. However, if you are using a steam iron, be aware that the steam will pass through the mat to the surface below. I placed the mat on my cutting mat and found that the cutting mat was warped and wet from steam. Luckily I managed to smooth it out. If you're putting this directly onto a wooden surface, make sure you don't worry about that. I put a 1/2 inch board and a heavy towel on top of my cutting mat and under my ab mat and that seemed to fix the problem. I have little…

Not worth the effort

Ok I really want to love this product. Tons of good reviews and I did a little research on how to use it before I started experimenting for testing. Boom. It's instant. Where there was no cloth between, it charred and left a sticky residue. I've never held the iron over one spot for more than 5 seconds and hit the corner with the tip. It may just be a downside of the wool rug, but I'm a bit skeptical about the rug's content. I can try washing it to see if there is any residue or substance…

The Perfect Iron Pad

Hallo E1! I decided I needed a small ironing station close by so I could keep working on my sewing machine. I am happy to say that this pillow meets these requirements perfectly. I don't have a lot of space, but luckily I can put my sewing machine and ironing pad right next to each other without moving anything. I have a standard size board and a full size iron, but who wants to get up every time you need to press something. It spoils your creativity in many ways. In short, I love the pad and…

Very handy for those who sew.

I sew clothes and often have to iron a seam between stitches. I used to have an ironing board on my countertop and had to get up and move the fabric around every time. It's very convenient to put it next to the machine and just turn it around when you need to iron it. I enjoyed using it; I can't tell you the last time I used my ironing board. This cushion does not protect the table I am ironing on, nor does it protect the ironing board on the countertop. I didn't notice any deformation or other
