Cheap straps Good cushion

The only reason I give 4 stars is because the straps that come with are very cheap and make an annoying noise when tightened and the wind blows.

Won't hold on boards

When first buckled on, the buckles don't hold the straps and the wind generated by movement causes the board to loosen the straps. I almost lost my board skiing down Main Street due to the straps coming loose.

VERY LOOSE - Cargo Bars

They will do the job but honestly I wouldn't buy them again. Even when the Velcro is fully closed. They are still incredibly loose with a gap of about 1-2 inches. They slide back and forth on my stock 2014 Subaru Outback Aero bars. When pulled down they tend to twist forwards or backwards so basically just tie whatever you've ever tied to the metal of the crossbar. Almost useless but can get the job done. with a constant permutation. I will buy better quality before my next long trip.

Too big for 2.5 " crossbars, makes a lot of wind noise when not carrying a surfboard

I bought these to fit some aftermarket crossbars that fit the dimensions given in the listing. My handlebars are elongated and about 2.5" front to back. These pads are VERY large and the velcro hardly overlaps. If you ride them with no board on them they make a horrible howling wind noise. So I hate throwing things away. I'll try Looking to change the flap mounts and see if I can adjust them to fit better and tighter The straps that come with padding seem to work pretty well.

It would be better if the steering wheel was thicker

Bought these because they need to match my car's 'aerobars'. It's easy to tighten the pads, but it's very difficult - impossible - to tighten them enough that they don't move. When I pulled the Velcro straps far enough to tighten them, they overlapped so much that they really had no place to snag. So I dressed them looser than I would have liked. This caused them to move and roll as I lifted the boat onto the car. The soft side fell off and the boat just rested on the velcro. It took some…
