Horror for Toyota Tundra

Horror for Toyota Tundra. sent back. Drive like an old stagecoach. Unfortunately, expensive Bilsteins are the only way to recreate the excellent factory handling of the 1st generation Tundra. Don't waste money. Especially on fast trains. The cam spring is too weak for the weight of the truck.

Very easy to install but too soft

I bought these with my Monroe 17134R/L Quick-Strut Complete Struts. The quality looks good. They were pretty easy to install on my 2WD 06 Tundra Full Cab. I read a few reviews about how soft they are and thought my truck has always had a soft ride so I thought damn they are so easy to install why not. Light Truck Shock Monroe 37239 OESpectrum Well they are pretty soft, maybe a little softer than when new, can't say for sure. If I had to do it again, I'd probably give up and go with somethingโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

These dampers fit my Toyota Tundra 05 double cab very well. If you are replacing these shocks on a different 1st generation Tundra, the best way to remove the top bolt from the strut is to cut open the plastic dust cover on the stock shock and place a vise on the shock piston rod to hold it in place. I did this and was able to place the ratchet on the top screw and loosen it easily. The bolt is located just under the bed, difficult to reach with hands. However, Monroe are very high qualityโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Unreliable
