Shocks fit Shocks, Struts & Suspension

I always prefer Monro when I can get them. For the most part they got the "boat ride" from my old ranchero. I used these Police Interceptor shocks, although they have 3/4" less travel than the stock. Worked well.

Pros
  • Shocks, Struts & Struts
Cons
  • Compatibility

Mixed Feelings: Good replacement parts

I have to be honest I bought it because of the price. I put them on a 1999 Crown Vic. PI. Now that I'm having trouble replacing them, it's been a few months since I installed them. I would buy a more expensive brand. In general, it's not bad, and when money is tight. They work fine. drive comfortably.

Pros
  • Fits me great
Cons
  • Easy serviceability

Amazing performance at a great price

These shocks are the best for the Crown Victoria Police Interceptor when it comes to VS performance. Price. I bought these shocks along with Monroe 550051 Severe Service shocks and wow, day-night homage compared to stock shocks. CVPI is more stable under acceleration and cornering and on bumpy roads (they may not be as good as Bilstein HD shocks, but they cost half as much), and when towing the CVPI isn't as down as it used to be. The handling became sportier, tighter and harder. Some might…

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other models

BUY SOMETHING DIFFERENT INSTEAD OF

Absolute rubbish. After less than 27,000 miles of service, the nitrogen gas is completely gone and there is no damping effect when the shock absorber is compressed. They were installed on a 1998 Mercury Marquis with factory Ford HD suspension. The car is used 99% in the city and rarely has more than one person in it. There must be something wrong with this design as they are reduced from $163 to $36. Obviously, Monroe was built by a loser and they want to throw it on the market. We ship them…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • New competitors have emerged
