Great trip! for shock absorbers, struts and suspension

The hardest part was removing the old shock absorbers but they popped open and snapped easily. Raised my 2000 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 about 2 inches. went back to what it should have been and combined it with front shock replacement to get the truck perfectly lined up. It was an inch left to right, but it's level now.

It took a long time to install them!

Hits great! Gave the 97 4 x 4 Ranger 2 inches of lift. Remove the tires, the jack is under the frame so the rear can be lowered. Remove old shock absorbers. First install the top bolt of the new shock absorber. Then place a jack under the new shocks to raise them 2 inches to the bottom bolt hole. Installed but no time!

Great dampers for 2004 Ford Ranger Edge

I love these cool dampers! I put them on my 2004 Ford Ranger Edge, added about 2 inches and drive a lot better. They really shine when towed, they hold the rear end tight and now it drives like it doesn't have a trailer on it. Great shock absorbers! UPDATE 8/4/2017: These rear shocks are still strong and have maintained 2 inches of travel since installation. If you tow a smaller truck, give it a try. They helped my ranger a lot! I've ridden them off-road and beat the snot out of them, and…

Big shocks! in parts

Fantastic shock absorbers, Monroe 58618 Load balance shock absorbers fit 1994-2011 Ford Ranger when I was picking my car he said they don't fit but after reading other reviews from people who do they were put the rangers in, i bought them anyway and they fit perfectly. The rear ride height is about 2 inches higher than my truck with stock shocks and worn blade packs. It is very pleasant to drive on empty roads, no more axle bobbing or jumping in corners, the rear stays full and lies great on…

Good shock absorbers for Ranger 4x4

Very easy to fit, raises the rear of the Ranger a bit higher than the old broken OEM shock absorbers and handles loads very well. However, they are not supplied compressed. 1) The shock top bolt is in place. 2) Place a jack under the shock absorber and lift the jack into the bracket. 3) Insert the bottom screw. I'm 5ft 3in, 130lbs and was able to install them myself with no problem. (Monroe regularly discounts mana in October, "shocktober") EDIT: The original Ranger with shocks built in was…

Easy way to improve the suspension on a light truck

Good product but very difficult to install on my 2006 Ford Ranger. I should have my buddy, a set of jacks and blocks. We had to raise the truck by the hitch to fully extend the suspension and then use a jack to compress the shocks. This spring is quite stiff and resists well. I want them to be compressed but they are fully stretched. I gave 4/5 stars for the installation only. However, my truck rides better with it than the stock, the rear end is a little stiffer, but that's to be expected…
