I've read that some have complained about poor driving performance

No complaints here. I've read that some have complained about poor ride quality. In my case, my truck had over 200,000 stock shocks when I replaced them with these. Ride quality has improved significantly. After that, the height of the back of the truck increased by 1-2 inches, which did not bother me. I can really tell the difference when I have cargo in the truck compared to before. On the road feels very stable.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Low maintainability

Big shocks! fits parts

Perfect for my 2007 Silverado 1500 Classic LT truck. Wow, what an improvement in carrying capacity. My truck used to sit in the bed with a trailer or a moderate load, even when it was new. Now he hardly moves. I was concerned about the ride quality because that's the downside of the increased payload. These dampers still offer a pleasantly soft ride and are a better alternative to assisted or reinforced springs. This is a set of 2 which makes it a very affordable price.

Burnt out in less than a year!

I have used many different shock absorbers for many different purposes. I put them on the back of my light half-ton Silverado for daily driving and the seasonal opportunity when I can tow my light (-2000 lb) quad in the dunes. They knocked my teeth out from day one, and after minimal use they broke and leaked. Absolute rubbish. I swapped out a pair of KYBs in the front and Bil 5100 series shocks in the rear and it's like a new truck! Drives great. Don't waste your money on Monroe.

Great price great product easy install

Installed these on the back of my classic 2007 4.8 liter Silverado today. Initially they are very smooth, quiet and ride great. Installation took about 30 minutes. I can fit under my truck without jacking it up, so I got under the truck, unscrewed the bottom of the driver's side shock, slid it out, got the truck under the tongue, and kept checking how high you have to go to get it nail the old (fully extended) strut to the bracket below. When I saw that I could secure the shock fully extended…

Good load shock absorbers. Poor shock absorber and warranty return

Shock absorbers are easy to install, don't pay any garage for something you can easily do takes less than 30 minutes. You will need a jack to raise the frame to secure them in place. The shocks added a half inch to the height of the truck, but my truck has a heavy rear end. This will raise your truck higher if your truck has a regular tail. The dampers have improved driving comfort in caravan operation and also without a trailer. This amplifies the ride without making it stiff or jerky. Very…

Pros
