Review on Monroe 58636 Load Adjust Shock Absorber by Matthew Allen

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Good load shock absorbers. Poor shock absorber and warranty return

Shock absorbers are easy to install, don't pay any garage for something you can easily do takes less than 30 minutes. You will need a jack to raise the frame to secure them in place. The shocks added a half inch to the height of the truck, but my truck has a heavy rear end. This will raise your truck higher if your truck has a regular tail. The dampers have improved driving comfort in caravan operation and also without a trailer. This amplifies the ride without making it stiff or jerky. Very happy with this purchase. Shock upgrade after about 18 months of ownership. The shock absorbers (lifetime warranty) failed after about 1 year of use. I was not towing my trailer at the time of the accident and was not towing for 4-5 months prior to the accident. I heard a loud pop that sounded like I ran over a piece of metal on the road and jumped under the truck. I checked for damage but could not find any damage to the truck or shock absorbers. I found that after hooking it up to the trailer, the shock failed and the back of the truck dropped low to the ground and didn't bounce off it. Contacted Monroe about the rejection and Monroe said to contact the seller for all online purchases. Revain makes it difficult to return items 18 months after sale without finding a way to do so. I bought Monroe Gas Magnum shocks from a local auto parts store and installed them (found fluid leak on 58636 shocks) because I can't wait for Revain's bad warranty/no return of warranty products. Don't buy Revain automotive products, buy from your local auto parts store and save yourself the hassle of Revain.
