Monroe Reflex Truck Shock Absorber 911173 Review

Ideal, maybe not enough for a 1 ton truck to tow a machine. Got 1 black and 1 silver on the butt, no big deal just figured they should all be the same color.

I ordered these along with compatible rear shocks to replace my 12 year old Bilsteins. Notably, these front shocks have more balanced travel than previous shocks. By this I mean that after a big slump, the front and back appear to line up. The front Bilstein shocks tended to jump a few periods longer. So far, so good.

Savings were great. I have an F350 PowerStroke, I tow a 26 foot toy dump truck and my truck runs pretty smooth under load. But when I unhitched the trailer, my truck bounced like a basketball. Now with Monroe Reflex shocks, my truck competes with a Cadillac for a smooth ride. It's nice. By purchasing from Revain I saved 50% or more on costs and had it delivered to my doorstep. Fits Ford Excursion 02 2WD (RWD). On the driver's side, it's easy to install with a socket and extensions at the top of the bonnet that hold the shock absorber's built-in 'bolt' at the bottom of the wheel well (both 19mm). Passenger side, under the hood, the Allen key cannot reach the top mounting bolt. These shocks were great value on my Ford Excursion 2WD Diesel with aftermarket wheels and 265/60R20 tires in the E load range (shocks probably work even harder). The running behavior is quiet and smooth, but still firm and without any teetering. The rear pair was easy to install and the front pair was easy to install but took a little longer.
