2005 Z71 4x4 Silverado is smoother.

Shock absorbers well installed if you've ever done it before. The truck drives much better on city streets. I haven't ridden that much on the road, but the short freeway ride feels smooth too. Bought for riding on regular roads, not off-road. You can check the front rebound/rebound stoppers as mine were cracked. Riding a bit also helped. Happy with the purchase, time will tell. The price was higher than some others I looked at. The Rancho 5000 was perhaps a tougher road ride than what I asked a

Monroe Shock 911502

I needed new shock absorbers for my 2001 GM 4x4. I bought them in addition to the front shock absorbers. The car tends to drive hard. These punches seem to help when you hit the dip so you don't bounce as much and smooth the transition. You still feel the dents quite a bit on the road, but I think it helps. I also think it helps with general handling. In fact, these were one of the few recommended shocks for my car. Revain's price with free shipping was cheaper when I could find this shock…

Essentially a tougher replacement for an OEM part.

Fits my 2002 Chevy Silverado 4x4 with Z78 extended cab as described. Installation was not difficult for a competent mechanic. No instructions for non-mechanics, although YouTube can show you how. Give you the same ride and handling as the stock damper. Basically a good replacement. To update. After this upheaval for a while I decided to change my report. These shocks are stiffer than OEM. I'm fine as I often use a truck to haul full loads. Much better handling than factory loaded. But quite a…

Superior Shock for Z71 Silverado

PROS: Monroe Reflex shocks are excellent and their performance is exceptional - smooth and reliable. I've replaced Monroe Sensa-Trak shocks with 50-60k miles on them - no leaks/failures just roughness. The REFLEX setup was a bear as these shocks do NOT compress easily and the car had to be raised (never before) to lower the suspension so give it more time. But they are SO worth the time, effort and money. With over 90,000 on the Silverado, these new shocks and the latest new tires keep it…

Good for Z71 but not great

I like these as the ride is good but not great when I get into really rough terrain. It's usually fine around town (we have third-world streets here in Tucson), but I actually got thrown off a truck and nearly got into an accident in Valencia between Kolb and I-10. The track I'm talking about should be the proving ground for all shock manufacturers. They worked great with a load, but not so well without a load. I haven't had any off-road issues, but they seem to compress too much. Overall, it's

Works great on Silverado 1500

I just installed these shock absorbers on the back of my Silverado. They really made the ride stiffer and smoothed out bumps brilliantly. They come with a green plastic strap to hold them firmly in the box. These things are a beast to recompress, so you probably won't be doing it one-handed. What I liked was tucking the shock into the bottom bracket and skipping the bolt. I then hand tightened the nut to hold the bolt in place. In preparation for threading the bolt through the top mount, I…
