while it works fine.

Honda does not sell a replacement ball joint, it is only available with a steering knuckle so this is a good option. Nice construction and I'll give it a 5 if the durability is there. Note that the oiler has markings inside and out, although others have noted that it is non-directional. I just orientated myself as stated.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Upgrade available

Stay away! for ball joints

goods lasted 8 months. Both rubber boots are now torn and the left side hinge is now in bad shape. I see no reason to claim the guarantee. The amount of work to replace this garbage is enormous in relation to the cost of the goods. In comparison, ball joints in the Element lasted 10 years and 180,000 miles. Unless you enjoy removing your ankles for fun, stay away from this product.

Pros
  • handsfree
Cons
  • difficult to say

The boot breaks easily and cannot be replaced.

Bought these for my wife's 2006 item. They look good, but the boot isn't removable for installation, and the boot breaks easily when trying to push the ball joint in. I tried contacting Moogs customer service and was told they don't guarantee the boot or sell the boot separately so they come out with $50. This is the last time I buy Moog. Don't pay too much.

Pros
  • Quality finish
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Works great in Honda Element

Installed a couple of these on my 2004 Honda Element EX. It's a tight fit, even with a press, as this ball joint is about 0.1mm larger. That means that if you use them, you'll probably never be able to use a genuine Honda part without buying a new steering knuckle (who does that?). I also noticed that the threaded post on the bot is shorter than the Honda but still long enough to mount securely. The snap ring is a nice improvement over the original.

Pros
  • Happy so far
Cons
  • There are nuances

Update: Failed after 2 years. Great if you can't get a badly machined

Update: Even the one that was machined properly failed after 20,000 miles or so (the originals lasted 160,000!) I've heard good things about MOOG, but it was a complete failure. I have another one with mevotech and so far it has put more miles on it without crashing. One of the two I ordered was poorly made and left a piece of metal in the place where the clamp would attach. I didn't catch it before I pushed it in. , and it caught on the boot and tore the boot that went through the joint. If I…
