So disappointed I should have listened to the previous reviews!

There are many reviews on this product that don't show up due to hardware and poor packaging and I gave them a chance anyway, BIG FAIL! It is quite difficult to find a castle nut that will work with this part. Don't waste your time like me and others!

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Nothing here

Poking holes in boots

We have been working on a Chevy truck, replacing and pinning CV axles, tie rods, lower wishbones etc, except we have a tiny hole in the ball joint boot done, they told the owner it won't damage anything, but you will see some grease dripping out of the lower ball joint. If they kept the old style it would be hard for me, Moog is a great thing but it needs to be stopped.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Blank

The shipping box was fine but the product box was torn

Nipple, pin and nut are missing. You can clearly see where someone ripped open the box to get it. The shipping box was fine, but the product box was torn. Unacceptable please send parts as this is a project I have to complete this weekend. Obviously, this is a common problem as there are other ailments that are exactly the same. I will update my review when the issue is resolved.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Weight

Carefully inspect the ball joint boot for small holes.

Like the one I received on the other side, the ball joint boot had 2 holes in almost the same place. This seems to be a common problem as I ordered all 4 wishbones and 3 of the 4 hull bore ball joints. Of course, ball joint 1, which had a good boot, is sloppy and loose, almost as bad as the one I removed from the truck before starting this project. So I had to get 4 more ball joints to replace the ones that came with the control levers.

Pros
  • Beautifully packaged
Cons
  • Not sure

Believe the One Star Reviews

Bought this in September 2018, crown nut was missing on arrival and finding the right one was a challenge (I ended up having to buy a whole ball joint in Napa just for the nut) 4 Rewind months and 12,000 miles. It rattled so much that I replaced the front differential bushings, thinking that was the problem (obviously it wouldn't be a new ball joint, would it?). NOT CORRECT. The knock is still there, ball joints checked, BOTH new Moog lower ball joints are defective. Garbage. I've always…

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Look at your parts!

First of all, MOOG parts are usually on the top shelf. But the lower control arm on the driver's side had problems. The first one I received was in a rather shabby box. It would probably be better if the ball joint was wrapped in some sort of gasket to keep from tearing the boxes. But aside from the packaging being rough, the boot was torn. So I sent it back for exchange. It's okay, sometimes it happens. But now I have little time to finish my project before the trip. Replacement came a few…

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • You could have chosen a newer model

The only way.

I swapped the left and right sides on my 2009 4WD 1500 Sierra truck. This is the only way. No need to rent a ball joint press and try to press out the old one or install the new one. Some stores will "rent” presses for free, but in my experience they are worn out or don't have the right equipment. This comes with new bushings so all you have to do is pull out the bushing bolts and push out the ball joint cone. I didn't have to remove the hub as usual. It took me about 4 hours for both sides…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Not the best
