Great replacement for control lever

This is a great replacement for the lower control lever for my 05 Silverado 1500. The build quality is solid and the anti-corrosion coating is actually very good and is holding up. There have been some bad reviews about ball joints that don't take up lube, but I've had no problems with it, the ball joint gets lubricated every time.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Very expensive

Great fit! fits control lever

Rebuilding the entire front of my 04 Z71 Tahoe 4x4. I was a bit hesitant to buy auto parts online but I have to say that buying these parts saved me a lot of money, time and stress. I didn't have to press anything, it fit like a glove. Installed about a week ago so time will tell how good the jacks are, but so far so good.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Protection

Great fit and actually a little lighter than the original.

Fits NEW Ball Joint Lower Arm For only $80.00 more I bet I just bought a brand new one! Also, my '03 Tahoe has 185,000 miles on it, so the bushings on the lever are worn too. Why not kill two birds with one stone! Great fit and actually slightly lighter than the original factory I replaced. Now it's time to see how much abuse this Moog can take!

  • Nicely packaged

  • Not sure

No mirror!?: Control lever

Package arrived with a big gaping hole in the box. All not packed properly. The forearm is in packaging that was torn during transport! More importantly, there is no Zerk customization! It wasn't as described. Ordered a replacement for this right lower control arm. I hope it is packaged correctly! Remember you need to buy a wrench to tighten it and use a hex wrench to tighten the nut! Stupid design! No castellated nut with split pin is used because there is no hole for inserting a split pin…

Faulty Moog product

I fitted the part and found that it does not absorb grease. I called Moog and this guy called to find out why and the manufacturer was known to have manufacturing tolerances that were too tight resulting in the ball being too tight for grease to get from the ball and bushing into the Boot area could reach. They said it's not a safety issue and over time the socket will wear down enough for the grease to seep through. Since it was installed I will not remove it and let it wear. No more Moog "R"…

Let Down by Moog/Federal Mogul

I had the same problem as Steve. The ball joint did not absorb grease as expected. Although there was probably enough lubrication at the top for the ball joint to work properly, no lubrication got to the boot area. Without lubrication, the dust boot would not seat properly on the steering knuckle (and would eventually break apart when the steering wheel is moved through excessive squeezing, twisting, and turning). I had to disassemble the ball joint after installation and grease it from the…
