Poor quality welds: gears and parts

I bought this item about 8 months ago, have had it until now not installed as he was one of the last ones to go ahead with the engine I'm building Long story short the welds on the oil pan are leaking now I have to take them off and pay someone else to weld them. Not worth the money they charge.

Pros
  • Package dimensions: 21.0"L x 12.0"W x 6.0"H
Cons

Could be better: Gearbox

The design of this pan is not so good. The increase in capacity comes at the expense of space. Additional Pan Storage BLOCK THREE MOUNTING HOLES. This makes installation much more difficult than necessary. Some of the welds aren't great either, but the sump doesn't leak, so I won't complain too much. Also make sure you tighten all hardware/screws as they will come loose.

Pros
  • 1.6/1.8L Vtec
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

doesn't leak, keeps oil where it's needed

Welds look like they've been MIG treated so not pretty but for the price it's ok. Nothing is leaking and the baffles were free to move when I received it. The end caps are supplied loose so be sure to tighten them. I also used teflon tape. Both plugs have 1/2 inch NPT threads. One in front for the turbo drain and one in the back for the sensor. The included oil drain plug has straight threads and a magnet, but is a bit fiddly if a nut has just been welded onto it. Pan.

Pros
  • Acura Integra
Cons
  • Off fashion
