Description of πŸ”§ Motion Pro 08-0483 Shock Spanner Punch: Efficient Tool for Adjusting Shocks

Ideal tool for turning hard to reach lock ring and preload ring on rear shocks. Angled brass tip gives secure bite and protects ring from damage. Non replaceable brass tip can be filed down to remove galling. Heavy duty construction. Long shaft to reach hard to get at shocks.

Disappointing Tool, Limited Capabilities

Based on my experience, this automotive suspension tool is far from impressive. While it may work for certain shocks, it falls short in terms of adaptability for other models. The one pro would be the affordable price, but the limited capabilities make it unusable for most applications. Don't waste your money on this poorly-designed tool.

Pros
  • Easy to use and provides a better grip on the shock adjustment nut.
Cons
  • Requires the purchase of a separate tool for each shock type or size.

Works great when it fits

Does what it's supposed to do but the head is too thick for some applications. I mainly use it to tighten connecting rod bearings on motorcycles. The head was a bit thick for my friend's 2014 Honda Shadow. Works great on my V-Rod '03 and 2000 Honda FTR (bike in Japan only).

Pros
  • Spares
Cons
  • Retrofit

Great tool for motorcycle maintenance!

I love this tool! I've been thinking about getting this for years and when I finally ordered it I wish I had bought it a lot sooner! Gone are the days when it was possible to ruin locking and adjusting rings on motorcycle shock absorbers (both single and double). With this tool you can easily and safely adjust them without damaging the soft aluminum rings. The brass end works well, and the thru-shaft and hammer cap on the end of the tool are a nice touch for tougher jobs. I also use this tool…

Pros
  • Shock absorber
Cons
  • No automatic
