Description of πŸ”Œ MOTOKU OBD1 to OBD2 Adapter Code Reader Scanner Check Engine Diagnostic Tool Cable Connector for Ford Vehicles

Compatible with most (NOT ALL. If not working, connect us for a refund directly)models for Ford cars made between 1988~1995. Trucks and pickups for Ford are not supported. (On Board Diagnostics - OBD has a very long history. The 7 pin OBD1 connector was used on cars made between 1980~1995. But only part of the OBD1 systems became OBD2 starndard. We can use OBD2 tools on those OBD1 cars got a OBD1 system which is part of OBD2 standard. ). One end for the 7 pin OBD1 connector on the car, the other end for a 16 pin OBD2 diagnostic tool.

Doesn't work: tools and equipment

I've never been able to get my scanner to work with it. Maybe I need to be smarter than what I'm working with. I do not know. Maybe you could figure out how it works, but I definitely couldn't.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Hard to say

Time saver for diagnostic, testing and measuring tools

If you have a Ford F53 chassis you probably know that the DLC is under the doghouse in a very hard to reach place. This adapter is now a fixture for me. Open the hood and there it is.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Low repairability

solid cord. - Code Readers and Scan Tools

I'm sure others could get it for their purpose but we bought it for my husband's '95 F150 as they didn't have OBD ports II in 95. We tried to connect to the scanner with this cable, but it didn't work. It could be a scanner or it could be a cable, I have no idea. I bet these are some of the older scanners we tried to use.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • No

This is an adapter. Doesn't read anything

The adapter itself works and I've mostly gotten it to work with one of my OBD II readers. Problem with codes. All OBD-I systems were made specific (one of the things that drove the legislature crazy). An identical trouble code on a Ford can be completely different on a GM. All OBD II systems have universal codes so now they all mean the same thing which is the problem with this adapter. Your OBD II reader will assume this is one of the new generic codes. It is best to just buy an OBD I scanner…

Pros
  • Handy thing
Cons
  • So far so good
