Failed after just one year of use

Genuine Ford part has lasted 120,000 miles and 6 years. This "Motorcraft" part only lasted 10,000 miles and 1 year. I either received a defective product or the parts are not genuine Ford parts.

Pros
  • All products are designed with the professionals in mind
Cons
  • Available in white only

It fits Ford Explorer 2013 V6

Pro: It was just right for my SUV. Due to the tightness in the engine compartment, installation without special tools was quite difficult. Once installed correctly I had no problems with it.

Pros
  • Fully loaded with modern technology
Cons
  • All right

4 months later and already broken

Replaced the belt tensioner on my 2010 Fusion Sport in February and this 'new' belt tensioner is starting to fail. I noticed lower voltage readings so I checked the battery and alternator in auto zone and the belt tensioner made a horrible clicking noise when checking. Completely unacceptable for something original and completely new.

Pros
  • Top Quality Manufacturer
Cons
  • No

2013 Explorer Limited

Progress as expected. Three (3) screws to remove old tensioner. It came in with no problems. I highly recommend using a "flat breaker" (or 3/8 inch pull rod) to install a new serpentine belt. I used a standard 3/8" ratchet and ended up having to cut it out (need a new one). The problem was that the new belt was tighter than the previous one, so the ratchet (mounted in the tensioner) stopped right in front of the other bolt head once the new belt was inserted. This didn't give me enough…

Pros
  • Continually updating our powerful devices to meet the needs of today's users
Cons
  • Issues encountered
