Works well, a little more squeal

Installed on Ranger XLT 3.0L V6 '98. There is no creaking when the steering wheel is straight or slightly turned, but it crunches a little when turning sharply. It's still an improvement over the original, which screamed like a banshee when the power steering oil reached the right temperature.

Pros
  • Stable results when tested
Cons
  • There are cons

Literally garbage. in the steering system

Bought a Motorcraft repair pump thinking it was better than the junk you get at the auto parts store, boy was I wrong. It makes more noise than the crappy old one I took off the truck. Don't like working twice. The quality is rubbish and I cannot recommend this pump.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Alright

Fits my 2002 Ford Ranger 3.0L v6

Was looking for a new power steering pump, not much in stock. Motorcraft Renovation seemed like the best choice. The pump was delivered with a new tank and cap. The high-pressure hose was also supplied with a new O-ring. To install the pulley the kit includes a bolt, round nut and washer, I used an installation tool instead. Hopefully this will last 151,000 miles like the original, looks like OEM quality.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Cleanliness
