Impressive ball return and safety nets

I bought this 3 weeks ago and have transferred over 3000 photos to my phone. If there is something bad that I think is important, be sure to buy good batteries. I put AA Amazons in the modem and they lasted about 3 weeks. I connected the modem to the Moultrie A40-i camera. My area has a good connection (80%) so I suggest you have a good connection before posting it.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Non automatic

I am receiving a photo as I write this

Just received today, set up and working with no problems. Bring it to my hunting ground and pocket it. Put 12V on both batteries. Waiting for photos. It's just gotten dark and the pictures are coming. I have it set to instant but I will change it 2 times a day. I don't want this to go on all night, I have to work tomorrow. Set it to text and set it to 30 seconds, you're going crazy! So far, so good!

  • Everything is fine!

Big! (While you research before you buy!)

Do some research to make sure you have coverage in the area you're placing it (which I did). What I didn't know is that this is one modem per camera, so I had to purchase and activate 2 modems. My use of these devices is unorthodox. I use them to pick up two-legged animals breaking into my secluded hideouts. I caught a few people where they shouldn't be! So you paid for yourself and cost a lot less than a traditional solar powered video surveillance system!

Good value for money, easy setup.

The modem is very easy to set up and use, just follow the instructions. Make sure you set the camera as a thumbnail at the start, otherwise you'll use up data very quickly, 1 HiResolution image equals 35 thumbnails, I wish Moultrie had an option somewhere in between, only offers rental or thumbnails. And be careful, if you get too big a plan and don't use it fully, it won't last long, you will lose it. Other than that, I really like it, planning to buy another one soon to use with another…

But it seems to work.

It works but the real problem, the reason it isn't used in the box is the same reason many reviews complain. The software application is buggy and the program will kick you EVERY time you try to delete an image. You can take a lot of pictures with these cameras. Also, unless you go back to Moultrie to order a high-resolution image, the resolution is a bit grainy. How long this will take is not known. So the idea is great, but the execution is lame. Best of all:. Canceling service at Moultrie is

Worst purchase I've ever made!

If I had zero I would have said so. I bought it in May and was finally able to release it at the end of June because there were 7 hours left to rent. Photos never load and it drains batteries like crazy. I bought a battery and wanted to install it on the modem, but the connection to the modem was lost or dropped. I have contacted Moultrie and they want me to pay for return shipping so they can look at it. Don't waste your money on it. I used to buy Moultrie products but not anymore. My brother…

I gave up. best in team sports

The device was dead out of the box and not connected to the mobile network. I had to send it in for repairs. no replacement was offered. Eventually he started working in the field, but after a week he suddenly stopped communicating. The support tells me that the batteries are empty quickly (show 86%) because the signal is too weak. I suspect the battery indicator doesn't work like it does on a regular cellphone. I am unable to receive high resolution photos sent via the app upon request…

Please read again before buying this item

Bought this item in April 2019. My modem didn't work. Connect to the server. I contacted Moultrie support and they were very happy to send me a new modem when they received my broken modem. Having installed this in my hunting club I think it does a good job of sending photos. BUT HOWEVER I get notifications about 2 times a week that my Moultrie modem is not a camera. The battery is low and at 0% and I know I put new AA lithium batteries in both. camera and modem. About 10 minutes later I check…

Overall very good but not perfect

Pros: It's pretty good for the money. Considering our property is 4.5 hours away that helps us get information on the money when we can't check the CCTV cards. Setup is a bit wonky, but I'd still say it's easy (I'm a software developer though, so the technology is easier for me). The app does what I expect and I haven't had any issues with it not working. As long as the batteries are good, I'll get my photos when I expect them. Cons: I really only have 2, although I'll take a little long to…
