This item is very durable and keeps my phone from moving when I don't want it to. Holds against the wind during a long motorcycle ride. The only complaint I have is the limited angles you have with it. Because of the design, you can only tilt it before the mount hits. I've seen one that articulates mid-arm and I'll probably choose it to have more flexibility.

Received it in the afternoon and took it to the garage later in the day to attach to my kayak. When I attached it to the attachment ball, it fell to the ground. Completely separate! Details flew everywhere. Thank goodness that manufacturer included a picture of how pucks etc are assembled. Seems ok but not very safe. Definitely disappointed with the structure.

This is the metal version I bought, not the plastic version. I use it as a longer suction cup extender to attach a small video camera to the outside of the car to film on the go. The extra length allows the camcorder's side LCD screen to be fully opened when installed on the right side of the vehicle. The LCD screen opens on the left side of the camcorder, so the extra length gives you extra room to fully open the LCD screen.

The picture (even enlarged) suggests you're getting a smooth, pristine and polished metal mount...it looks almost CNC machined Aluminum. In fact, what I got looks more like a cast iron skillet... rough, just like them. Rough enough that if you're not careful with it, it REALLY scratches any metal or plastic it comes in contact with. It literally looks like sandpaper. I'll leave that, but... terribly disappointed in the quality of this piece of crap. Shame on you RAM
