🔩 9mm Angled Bolt Head Adapter Ball Base with 1" B Size Ball by RAM Mounts - RAM-B-272U Review

I like the compact dimensions. I've been using them for years and two of them broke while holding a small GPS in my hands. My buddy had the same ball mount on his bike during a recent ride. We had just covered a long rocky stretch when he looked down and found his GPS, tire levers and arm gone. This product broke and had no leash so all was lost. All three had broken legs, near the bolt that attached them to the bike.

Used this to move the GPS mount on my Dual Sport (701) motorcycle. I first used the RAM handlebar mount which worked but wasn't particularly secure and was too close to my body when standing. I've found my body gets stuck in the GPS far too often on rough terrain. This allowed me to anchor the aluminum shaft of my forearm, which moved it about 4-5 inches forward and a few inches higher, making it easier to look down when standing and better in sight when seated.

RAM mounts are the gold standard and they have many extras that help tie the base mount to your hardware. screw on the back. First review: I haven't installed/used it yet, so I can't comment on its physical application yet. I was a bit disappointed when I opened the package to find that the black protective film on it was badly damaged and "peeling". For the price you really don't expect to get something in this condition. So keep in mind that you may need to put some kind of protective coating on it. As you can see in the photo this is brand new unopened packaging but it looks like there are nicks from the coating to attach it. It's not aesthetically pleasing, especially when I install it on a bike that's in perfect condition.
