I bought this to use with my Swarovski BTX spotting scope. It suits me, it suits my purposes. I'm not happy with that. The fit and finish of the device is a bit lacking and when everything is locked there is little movement at the base of the device where it connects to the tripod. It's minor, but when I'm looking at the stars through the scope, it's definitely noticeable.

Very happy with this item. Well packaged and arrived complete. Fits my tripod with no problems. For the reviewer who had an issue with the mount rocking. All of my tripods have set screws on the underside of the mounting plate. For a firm hold of what has been attached, gimbal, ball head etc. Fit, form and function are excellent. The quality seems high and the carbon fiber is strong and light. I would give it 5 stars but they advertise that it is hydraulic but it is not. Still works well but not as smooth and adjustable as a hydraulic tripod head. The tension adjustment screws aren't as tight as I'd like, but they work. The threads appear to be slightly slack when tightened to lock movement.
