I was looking for a fully submersible heater that is more rigid than the regular glass heater you can find at pet stores. A big plus is that the diving part is very durable. It also gets very hot (make sure it's fully submerged in water). So far, so good!

I don't know what warmth and thickness have to do with an aquarium heater. The heater works well but the instructions are not in English. However, it was still relatively easy to install and use. And came in a plain white box.

I use them in galvanized steel 8' x 3' feeders that contain lime saturated water to a depth of about 12 inches. The tanks are stock which is between 50 and 65 degrees. My heater is set at 73 degrees and has no problem maintaining that temperature. These heaters are immersed in lime water with a pH of 14 and have been able to withstand this harsh, corrosive environment for several winters. until now.
