In general I didn't like this timer. They're a little harder to use than most and two of them stopped beeping so I had to throw them out. The timer has three settings. clock, timer and alarm clock. I've been needing a new digital kitchen timer for a long time. Since I needed three, this item seemed like a good buy. The timer itself works well and I'm happy with that aspect. It counts down, counts down and behaves like a normal clock. I also like that you can remember the last set value of the timer. The two stars are due to the poor assembly of the stand and magnet. This timer is also a clock (24 hour military time). It has a large, easy-to-read LED display. The alarm signal is loud, it can be heard at a great distance. It has a hanging loop, a magnet on the back and a stand. Those are good qualities. EXCEPT for the function that matters most to me.
