We professional installers encountered a situation where a previous installation (not ours) was done with local power and only coax cables were run at home. During the repair, the local power supply was cut off and the damaged cells were in a critical location. We tried using alternative wires but this proved impossible due to the nature of the design. These units saved the day.

First let me say that this worked for me in that it allowed me to get video in a place where I had coax but no power. It does a good job of powering the camera and returning video to the DVR. However, there are 2 downsides - 1. The video quality for me is not as sharp as my other cameras that don't have adapters. 2.
